Federal Water Quality Two-Year Milestones for 2018-2019

November 21 2017

The draft 2018-2019 Federal Water Quality Two-Year Milestones are available effective today (November 21, 2017) for a 30-day public comment period through December 21, 2017. These milestones represent commitments from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and nine other federal agencies’ (USDA, DoD, USACE, USGS, NPS, FWS, NOAA, DOT, and GSA) to support the water quality goals in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement. The commitments, many of which are designed to support the jurisdictions in meeting their water quality milestones, represent activities with the potential to have significant environmental outcomes, require significant resources, or directly support the jurisdictions in meeting Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) commitments. These commitments are contingent on receiving adequate federal funding in the 2018 and 2019 fiscal year budgets. Please post any feedback on the proposed milestones in the comment box below or directly via email to the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership’s Federal Office Directors Coordinator at
